Overview

​​Organizational systems are complex, nuanced, and shaped by visible and obscured structures. Influencing organizations requires more than seeing the whole: it involves understanding how its moving parts interact, and how feedback loops sustain current patterns and create openings for change. So the question becomes: How do we move through the complexity of our organizational systems to reclaim our power and agency?

It starts by digging where you stand (Sven Lindqvist) to see the macro and micro context of you and your organization. The learning journey will build from our departmental inquiries and apply The Marionette to rigorously explore complexity and develop the adjacent possible. By engaging in a long-form exploration, you’ll be able to understand the nuances of the system you operate within and expand your capacity and resilience as leaders.

Program Arc

The following outlines our current thinking about the program modules. We may chance the sequence and/or inquiries based on the group. Each module will be hosted by one of Solvable’s Departments. Our Department are zones of rigour and possibility in their steadfast pursuit of inquiries and ways of creating value.

  • Bring your vision of change to life by unearthing its embedded values, purpose, and impact

Module II: Uncovering Systemic Norms Part 1

  • Hosted by the Department of Resilience

  • Understand what makes up the organizational system you’re operating within

Module III: Uncovering Systemic Norms Part 2

  • Hosted by the Department of Dismantling

  • Understand the mechanisms and patterns of behaviour supporting org structures

Module IV: Changemaking Pathways

  • Hosted by the Department of Disruption

  • Understand how the different layers of your organization are shaping your affective states to unearth pathways to enact your unique agency

Module V: Claiming Your Agency

  • Hosted by the Department of Resilience

  • Understand how you’ve internalized organizational norms into affective states and access your inner changemaker 

Module VI: Collective Agency

  • Hosted by the Department of Interconnection 

  • Map your relations, social capital, and collective action to assess the impact you could have on the system you’re operating within
